  He did say the "the West Coast"......."time to get out of that area". So this bone head thinks everyone on the West Coast should leave it? Does he have any clue how many miles long the WC of the United States is? And how far inland should should the evacuation be. Twenty-five miles? One hundred miles? And how about a clue when. One month? One year? One hundred years from now? If he wants to be prophet he has to be a little more specific than that but much like the Watchtower he is leaving himself a lot of wiggle room. I'm sure he has heard of the close relationship there was in the Bible between false prophets and stones so his isn't really saying anything you can pin on him.

  Everyone knows that eventually there will be a major earthquake somewhere on the West Coast but this evil clown is hoping it will happen soon so he can claim it as his own. But he really hasn't been specific enough to claim anything that happens but I'm sure that won't stop him trying.

  And hasn't his God heard of smart bombs? He's going to kill an awful lot of people just to get the ones he doesn't like.

  Years ago when I would go in the AOL JW chatrooms this came up all the time "where are we to go" or "what do you have to offer that is better". I'd try to get it through their heads that it didn't matter if I had something that was better than the Watchtower to offer them or nothing at all. The point was is the Watchtower teaching the truth. I wasn't trying to sell them anything or get them to believe like me. The point wasn't whether I had a better package to offer them but they seemed think it was.

  As for the "where are we to go". Dubs have that drilled into them. The only place they need to go once they realize it is a crock is out the door. The rest will work itself out once the get back on the road.

  It doesn't. It is also a fact that he never even place one Watchtower magazine in his entire life. Even the scripture the Watchtower uses (Acts 20:20) to convince its followers to go door to door and sell magazines is taken out of context. When you read it without the Wt imput it becomes obvious Paul was speaking about going to the houses of those who already were believers.

  whats the science on leg warmers?

  why is that i can see a woman with socks on and it does absolutely nothing for me, but i see leg warmers, and i'm intrigued?.

  I thought those went out in 90's. The only person I still see wearing them is a crazy homeless guy. Kind of an ugly overweight male Jane Fonda wannabe. I see mostly UGG boots on women these days.

  Are JWs the worst restaurant customers?

  (a little background info before i ask my question...).

  my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!

  she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).

  Maybe it is a reginal thing but I don't remember any of the dubs I hung out with being that way. We used to go out eating and drinking a lot. I've always believed in trying to makes someones life better by tipping good and to their credit I don't remember any of the dubs I hung with wanting to treat service people any other way. Although there was one time on a Ski trip to Mammoth with serveral other JW couples we went to a restaurant and one "brother" offered to leave the tip. He put a dollar down on as a tip on a $60 dollar meal. The other JW guy I was with looked appalled. One of us said we didn't think it was enough and we both added another dollar. We didn't want to make the guy look bad so we didn't add more than he did. Latter we discussed how embarrassed we were about leaving such a lousy tip and regretted even worrying about the cheapskates feeling. We both felt like we had taken advantage of the waiter

  I ended up in the back room of the KH today

  our public talk and wt study is on saturdays.

  i was informed by an elder that i shouldn't leave right away after the meeting.. immediately i had a sinking feeling in my stomach.

  but not as bad as i would have felt about it months ago.

  I said everything was okay :-( and I'm not proud of that.

  I think you said the right thing at that time. Once the cat is out of the bag you can't put it back again. Once you tell them how you feel whether in person or in written form your relationship with them will change very quickly. You won't have to worry about informing everyone. Bad news (or what they percieve as bad news) spreads very quickly in the Watchtower world.

  I don't believe much in fading other than to buy yourself some time to figure out the best way to call it quits. The reason I don't believe in prolonged fades is that once you start pretending that you still are a JW years can go by and you still haunted with the fear of being found out. You could spend the rest of your life playing games with people. And for what?

  Do you have friends and support outside of the KH? I know you have us here but what I'm referring to is some sort of life outside the Watchtower. If not start developing one people you know at work or school. If you feel so inclined you could get involved with a charity or environmental group. I can also be a good time to explore other churches and religious groups. If you do just keep your BS meter on high.

  I also think you are the type that will make a clean break.

  Are you sure this wasn't a Salvation Army convention? I don't remember them giving anything away at conventions except crazy religious teachings and bad advice.

  I love Publishing Cults reasons for going back. Finally some good reasons to attend meetings again. Along those lines I was thinking it might be fun to go back and always refer to Jehovah as Mr. Jehovah. You could stand at the back and greet people by saying: Mr Jehovah welcomes you" and begin you Watchtower comments with: "Mr Jehovah says.......

  i've seen a few threads/posts where some of y'all have heard from jw contacts and how they've stepped up their 'the end is close' rhetoric because of the earthquake/tsunami in japan.

  i usually take those things with a grain of salt.

  there's always some jw whose cheese has slipped that reads prophecy into every little thing that happens.

  IM SOOO ANGRY!!!!!!!

  i have not posted for a while and have actually not been on for a while but i have had to post cus i am just livid!!!.

  me and my husband and 2 children stopped going nearly a year ago after numerous issues, and basic doubts.

  while we were in the cong i had an 'incident' with a brother who claimed to love me and wanted to leave his wife for me.
